WHO WE ARE
S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy was born out of both unimaginable loss and unshakable love. Named in honor of my beloved son, Sabree Marquis Daniel, and his stepmother, Renay Daniel, who were both taken by domestic violence, the Academy stands as a living tribute to their light and legacy. Our story is rooted in resilience, out of grief came a vision to break generational cycles of trauma, poverty, and inequity by creating spaces where children and families can heal, learn, and thrive. What began as a mother’s promise to transform tragedy into purpose has become a community mission: to empower youth from historically marginalized backgrounds with the tools, mentorship, and hope they need to rise above their circumstances.
At its heart, S.A.B.R.E.E. is more than an organization. It is an embodiment of who we are. I am Dr. Sonji Fatima (Daniel) Harold, a mother, educator, and advocate who chose to honor my son’s name by ensuring that other children are not forgotten, silenced, nor left behind. Our history is one of faith, perseverance, and service: from Newark roots to global impact, we carry forward a legacy of resilience and compassion. Today, S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy is a 501 (c)(3)nonprofit organization, EIN:
92-3486973 dedicated to building whole children and whole communities through trauma-informed, healing-centered education and mentorship. We are champions of equity, standing as proof that from pain can come purpose, and from brokenness, a new generation of leaders.

Heart of S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy
At its heart, S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy is dedicated to breaking intergenerational cycles of disadvantage by equipping historically marginalized youth and families with the tools to flourish, emotionally, academically, and socially, from the earliest moments of life and well into the future.
Rooted in trauma-informed care, culturally responsive education, leadership development, and emotional resilience training, S.A.B.R.E.E. cultivates safe, nurturing, and opportunity-rich environments where young people and their families are not only seen but deeply supported and holistically strengthened. Our work begins with children from birth through age eight, those born into marginalized communities and impacted by poverty and systemic inequity, ensuring they are never left to face life’s challenges in isolation.

Our Vision
We envision a world where every life is cherished, every community flourishes, and every individual, regardless of race, history, or circumstance, is empowered to heal, grow, and succeed.
At S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy, we dream of a future where every child is met with dignity, nurtured in love, and equipped with the tools to thrive. A future where early intervention, equitable education, and holistic care converge to break generational cycles of trauma, and where healing is not a privilege but a promise.
We see resilient communities where purpose is ignited, legacy is honored, and historically marginalized families are not merely surviving, but flourishing, generation after generation. In this world, trauma no longer determines destiny, and every child has the freedom and support to become all they are divinely created to be.

Mission Statement
At S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy, we exist to advance equitable, healing-centered care for historically marginalized communities by addressing health disparities, promoting trauma-informed advocacy, and dismantling systemic barriers to well-being. Rooted in over two decades of educational leadership by Dr. Sonji Fatima (Daniel) Harold, and deeply informed by her doctoral research and transformative book, From the Womb to the Classroom, our mission is to elevate the voices of those silenced by inequity, foster resilience, and empower individuals and families through compassionate support, innovative programming, and global partnerships.
Through our groundbreaking division, the S.A.B.R.E.E.: Innovation and Resilience Early Childhood Initiative (SIRECI), we boldly champion holistic equity from the very start of life. Serving children ages 0 to 8 in historically underserved communities, we are committed to nurturing bright minds and brave hearts by integrating culturally responsive education, early intervention, mental health support, and family-centered wraparound services.
This work is a sacred tribute to the life and legacy of Sabree Marquis Daniel, whose brilliance, diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome and seizure disorder, and resilient spirit continue to inspire our path forward. With love, urgency, and unwavering hope, we are building a world where every child, every family, and every voice has the opportunity to

She is the Founder and CEO of S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in loving memory of her son, Sabree Marquis Daniel, whose life was tragically taken by domestic violence, along with his beautiful stepmother, Mrs. Renay Daniel. Through S.A.B.R.E.E.- Seizing Abundance Because of Resilience, Empowerment, and Edification, Dr. Harold has cultivated a holistic, healing-centered model of mentorship that disrupts intergenerational cycles of poverty, trauma, and educational inequity, starting from the earliest stages of life.

It brings together various stakeholders to improve clinical trial design and regulatory decision-making for neonatal therapies. Dr. Harold is also a Partner of the PreemieWorld Foundation, Inc., a wonderful 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, led and co-founded by Mrs. Deb Discenza and Jenny McCormick; purposed to create and curate equitable access of underserved populations to patient education, advocacy tools and outcomes data specific to the preemie population.
In addition, Dr. Harold is an esteemed, incoming Chairperson of the Global Newborn Society, where she collaborates with renowned medical experts, including Akhil Maheshwari, MD, a Neonatologist, former Pediatrician and Medical Advisor to S.A.B.R.E.E., as well as an international cadre of neonatologists, pediatricians, and public health leaders, to advance equity-centered, healing-informed neonatal and maternal care. Dr. Harold has developed A Bill of Rights for Children Born into Marginalized Communities, and helps guide policy, research, and grassroots interventions to close racial and socioeconomic gaps in perinatal and early childhood outcomes.
Dr. Harold is the acclaimed author of 12 extraordinary books that blend scholarly insight, spiritual depth, and personal testimony, covering topics such as trauma, post- and pre-traumatic stress, educational equity, and the transformative power of language, leadership, and loss. Her writings are known for offering healing, hope, and strategic tools to individuals and institutions committed to creating a more just and compassionate world.
Drawing from her own life, marked by the murder of her father at age seven, a childhood of abuse, years of poverty, and the devastating loss of her son, Dr. Harold brings a rare authenticity to her work. Yet, it is her refusal to be defined by trauma that sets her apart. She has transformed profound grief into generational impact, earning a Doctorate in Instructional Leadership and becoming a leading voice in the fields of education, advocacy, and emotional resilience.
Today, through her thoughtful leadership, speaking, writing, and program development, Dr. Sonji Fatima Harold is changing lives, one resilient story, one healing-centered initiative, and one brave conversation at a time.
