Our Mission
S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy transforms tragedy into opportunity by empowering our children, youth, and families through trauma-informed education, mentorship, and healing-centered enrichment. Founded in honor of Sabree Marquis Daniel and Renay Daniel, we are committed to breaking cycles of trauma and inequity while inspiring the next generation to thrive, lead, and create lasting, positive change.
Our Vision

We envision a world where every life is cherished, every community flourishes, and every individual, regardless of race, history, or circumstance, is empowered to heal, grow, and succeed. At S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy, we dream of a future where every child is met with dignity, nurtured in love, and equipped with the tools to thrive. A future where early intervention, equitable education, and holistic care converge to break generational cycles of trauma, and where healing is not a privilege but a promise. We see resilient communities where purpose is ignited, legacy is honored, and historically marginalized families are not merely surviving, but flourishing, generation after generation. In this world, trauma no longer determines destiny, and every child has the freedom and support to become all they are divinely created to be.
WHO WE ARE

S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy was born out of both unimaginable loss and unshakable love. Named in honor of my beloved son, Sabree Marquis Daniel, and his stepmother, Renay Daniel, who were both taken by domestic violence, the Academy stands as a living tribute to their light and legacy. Our story is rooted in resilience, out of grief came a vision to break generational cycles of trauma, poverty, and inequity by creating spaces where children and families can heal, learn, and thrive. What began as a mother’s promise to transform tragedy into purpose has become a community mission: to empower youth from historically marginalized backgrounds with the tools, mentorship, and hope they need to rise above their circumstances.

At its heart, S.A.B.R.E.E. is more than an organization. It is an embodiment of who we are. I am Dr. Sonji Fatima (Daniel) Harold, a mother, educator, and advocate who chose to honor my son’s name by ensuring that other children are not forgotten, silenced, nor left behind. Our history is one of faith, perseverance, and service: from Newark roots to global impact, we carry forward a legacy of resilience and compassion. Today, S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy is a 501 (c)(3)nonprofit organization, EIN: 92-3486973 dedicated to building whole children and whole communities through trauma-informed, healing-centered education and mentorship. We are champions of equity, standing as proof that from pain can come purpose, and from brokenness, a new generation of leaders. At S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy, we strengthen the mental health, resilience, and overall well-being of children, families, and communities, particularly those historically marginalized, by expanding access to social-emotional learning, trauma-informed support, and pathways to care. Through culturally responsive education, family-centered engagement, and innovative community partnerships, we work to ensure that every child has the emotional foundation and supportive environment necessary to learn, grow, and thrive.

Guided by more than two decades of educational leadership by Dr. Sonji Fatima (Daniel) Harold, and informed by her doctoral research on resilience and student achievement as well as her scholarship in From the Womb to the Classroom, S.A.B.R.E.E. is committed to empowering youth and equipping the adults who support them, parents, caregivers, educators, and community leaders, with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to recognize emotional challenges early and respond with compassion, confidence, and care.

Through our signature division, the S.A.B.R.E.E. Innovation and Resilience Early Childhood Initiative (SIRECI), we provide integrated programming that supports children from early childhood through adolescence by combining social-emotional learning, trauma-informed wellness education, mentorship, and family engagement. Our programs foster emotional regulation, healthy relationships, self-advocacy, and help-seeking behaviors while strengthening the capacity of families and educators to nurture youth mental health and development.

This work is inspired by the life and legacy of Sabree Marquis Daniel, whose brilliance, resilience, and lived experience with neurological and developmental challenges continue to guide our commitment to building compassionate systems of care. In his honor, S.A.B.R.E.E. strives to create communities where every child, regardless of circumstance, has the opportunity to experience safety, belonging, and the support necessary to flourish. Through healing-centered leadership, evidence-informed programming, and collaborative partnerships, S.A.B.R.E.E. is working to build a future in which resilient youth, empowered families, and supportive communities together form the foundation for lifelong well-being.

OUR EXECUTIVE TEAM
Picture
Dr. Sonji Fatima Daniel Harold
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER  AND FOUNDER
Dr. Sonji Fatima Daniel Harold is a transformational leader, educator, author, and advocate whose life’s work stands as a powerful testament to the triumph of resilience, purpose, and healing over adversity. With an unwavering commitment to equity, restoration, and human dignity, Dr. Harold has devoted her life to empowering historically marginalized communities, advancing trauma-informed education, and uplifting the voices of those too often silenced by systemic neglect.

She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in loving memory of her son, Sabree Marquis Daniel, whose life was tragically taken by domestic violence alongside his beautiful stepmother, Mrs. Renay Daniel. Through S.A.B.R.E.E., Seizing Abundance Because of Resilience, Empowerment, and Edification, Dr. Harold has cultivated a holistic, healing-centered model of mentorship designed to disrupt intergenerational cycles of poverty,
trauma, and educational inequity, beginning in the earliest stages of life.

As part of her visionary leadership, Dr. Harold is deeply committed to advancing national and global initiatives that champion equitable, healing-centered care for infants, young children, and families within historically marginalized communities. She serves as a 2026-appointed Chairperson of the Global Newborn Society and as a Lead Editor of The Newborn, the medical journal of the Global Newborn Society, where she collaborates with an international network of neonatologists, pediatricians, and public health leaders dedicated to improving neonatal and maternal outcomes worldwide.

Dr. Harold has also contributed her expertise through service with several organizations committed to maternal and child health equity. She proudly served as an Advisory Board Member of The Skylar Project, a nonprofit organization supporting NICU and bereaved families, from March 2025 through June 2025, and subsequently as a Member of its Board of Directors from June through December 2025. She is also an Advisory Committee Member of Kindred360, an organization dedicated to developing policies and programs that address historic racism and end the Black maternal and child health crisis while providing culturally responsive care that enables Black families to thrive.

In addition, Dr. Harold is a member of the International Neonatal Consortium (INC), a program within the Critical Path Institute (C-Path) that brings together researchers, clinicians, regulators, and industry leaders to accelerate the development of safe and effective therapies for newborns. She is also a partner with the PreemieWorld Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit co-founded by Mrs. Deb Discenza and Jenny McCormick that works to ensure equitable access to patient education, advocacy tools, and outcomes data for families affected by premature birth.

Through her collaboration with renowned medical experts, including Dr. Akhil Maheshwari, neonatologist and Medical Advisor to S.A.B.R.E.E., Dr. Harold contributes to interdisciplinary efforts that advance equity-centered, healing-informed neonatal and maternal care. She is also the author of “A Bill of Rights for Children Born into Marginalized Communities,” a framework designed to guide policy, research, and grassroots interventions aimed at closing racial and socioeconomic disparities in perinatal and early childhood outcomes.

Dr. Harold is the acclaimed author of twelve books that blend scholarly insight, spiritual depth, and personal testimony. Her work explores themes such as trauma, post- and pre-traumatic stress, educational equity, and the transformative power of language, leadership, and loss. Through her writing, she offers healing, hope, and strategic tools for individuals and institutions committed to building a more just and compassionate society. She also serves as a strategic partner with Aerocharity–United Ministries.

Dr. Harold’s leadership is deeply informed by her personal journey. After the murder of her father when she was seven years old, a childhood marked by adversity, years of poverty, and the devastating loss of her son, she chose to transform pain into purpose. Rather than allowing trauma to define her, she forged a path of service and scholarship, ultimately earning a Doctorate in Instructional Leadership and emerging as a leading voice in education, advocacy, and emotional resilience.

Today, through her writing, speaking, and program development, Dr. Harold continues to inspire change: uplifting communities, advancing healing-centered leadership, and transforming lives one resilient story, one courageous initiative, and one hopeful future at a time.
